The Year of 2023

Before I start with my mood-board for the upcoming year I think its important to reflect on all that this year has blessed us with. With a little one time seems to fly by much quicker, it’s true what everyone tells you! Watching Maximus grow into the little curious toddler he is becoming is of course the brightest highlight of this year. We go to watch him turn one, which is a blessing in itself. We visited Marthas Vineyard as a family, it was so nice to explore the beauty of our own backyard. On the same trip we got our family photos by Sam of Sam Brooks Photos and was such a magical keepsake. We got to spend a few weeks in my hometown in Saskatchewan, it was a much needed visit for the soul visiting with friends and family. We had our first full year of renters at our Air Bnb, Ze Chalet. It was a great first year of learning the Air BnB ropes, and taking some tips to improve on in the new year. Like they say, the best things take time and I truly feel like with time our rentals just keeps getting better. It does have a special place in our hearts of course, but building something physical to share with others has been very rewarding. We got to watch our best friends get married! <3 That was truly a special day. And another best (& oldest) friend came to visit with her little one that is 1 month older than Maximus, it was such a special trip to see our babies playing together. And the last but not least is purchasing our first home! (I still have to share pictures, soon!) With 1 month to find a place (our rental lease was up Nov 1) we seriously started house hunting at the beginning of September and found a place, closed on Oct 31st, literally no days to spare! In between all of that there were lots of walks, beach days, yummy dinners, learning, and growing. Of course the entire year wasn’t perfect, and there were certainly some downs but as they say, that’s a part of life. Here are a few of our favorites of the year… thank you 2023!
