A Day Trip To Block Island
This past weekend we took a day trip to Block Island, Rhode Island. It’s been on my bucket list for a while now i’m glad we finally got to check out the tiny yet vibrant island. It was a brief 55 minute ferry ride from St. Judith Port in Rhode Island. When you arrive on the island you arrive to the town hub, scattered with little shops and cutesy restaurants. We began our adventure with lunch at The Surf, a part of the Block Island Beach House amenities. The Beach House offers 3 sections of dining atmospheres to choose from. All equally vibey. After lunch it was time to explore. I had booked our bike reservations in advance (on the ferry ride over) for a 30% savings online at Island Moped and Bike Rentals. After reading some reviews and friend recommendations of the hilly terrain I was a bit hesitant about our bike vs moped selection. If you’re up to the challenge the ride isn’t so bad, a good sweat session to start the day. The Mohegan Bluffs were certainly worth the trek. A secluded little piece of paradise. For a second you could mistake this for a part of California. The lengthy stairway down to the beach made for another good trek, but again very worth it. The beach ran long with silky sand underfoot. After some time in the sun we began our journey back to catch the ferry back to main land. This island is certainly a little piece of paradise.
