A Day In Newport

First off, what a stunning town.  From the moment we entered everything was in place, just as the quaint New England town I imagined it to be.  We started off our day with Newport's Cliff Walk.  It was the perfect city escape, with a west coast feel.  We parked on Ochre Point Ave by Salve Regina University, ending up at Spouting Rock Beach.  From there we made our way to the Marble Mansion.  Touring this mansion was well worth it, coming from the stone industry, I could especially appreciate the amount of detail that went into this project.  Dinner time led us to Scarpetta a restaurant on the water, a part of Gurneys Hotel Resort.  Aside from beautiful atmosphere and outstanding service, the in-house pasta dishes were to die for!  After indulging a bit too much, we transitioned to the other side of the resort where we found Gurney's outside bar.  This was the perfect summer set up, a great view of the bridge, live music, tiki-esque style bar, they even had Andirondack chairs lined up to enjoy the view.  The perfect ending to a love filled day.
