Holiday Styling 101
THEME: MODERN VINTAGE
Holiday decorating, arguably my favorite time of the year. The home is that much prettier & cozy with a tree up and candles burning, it really should be a thing all year around. Last year we had a neutral colored tree with DIY flocking. This year I’m trying my hand in COLOR, for anyone who knows me, this is not my style, I’m all about neutrals + gold. Since vintage is coming back in every way shape and form, I thought hey, lets try a vintage tree to go with my platform booties and bell bottom pants, right? If you view my Christmas Pinterest Board you will be swooned with the tinsel look, why don’t people do this anymore? I mean beside the insanely messy clean up, it’s a super fun. Here are a few easy tips for a stylish home this season:
1 // KEEP IT SIMPLE
It is SO easy to get caught up with all of the decorations that go along with the holidays. Every year you walk into your favorite decor stores and there will be the newest thing ready for you. Look at your space that needs decorating and ask, what does the space need.
2 // STICK WITH A GENERAL COLOR PALET
Three seems to be the perfect number, a good combo is two neutrals and 1-2 accent colors. You can never go wrong with gold and silver accents during the holidays.
3 // USE PIECES THAT YOU CAN REUSE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Gold and silver are perfect elements that can be used all year round, during the holidays they add extra warmth and glitz to any room.
4 // IN A BOWL
An easy accent for a coffee table, or extra jazz on a shelf. You can use a number of different elements: pinecones, leftover garland, leftover ornaments from the tree, you can really get creative here!
5 // AMBIENCE
Different levels of lighting is KEY. The tree obviously will be a huge factor here, I like to add extra lights for a fuller affect. Add candles (everywhere) and string twinkle lights to your space for the extra magical glow.
