WHEN WE WOKE UP HERE: Oceans Edge Resort & Marina Key West
Accommodation: Oceans Edge Resort
Location: Key West, Florida
Instagram: @oceansedgekeywest
Stayed: Feb 24-25, 2022
Getting There:
From Boston we flew into Miami airport, rented a car and drove to the keys. It was about a 3 hour drive, maybe a bit longer with traffic. When looking for places to stay in Key West we weren’t sure if we should stay in the town with the action or on the outskirts, it seemed like they were two different vibes. Because we rented a car we decided to stay outside the downtown area, mostly because the hotel options seemed a bit better. My husband is the master at finding good hotels & deals, now that he knows my preferred hotels aesthetic preferences:) Being outside of downtown Key West they had plenty of parking when we arrived.
Impressions:
The moment you walk in you notice the modern nautical design of the lobby. Clean, interesting and welcoming. The manager that helped us was great, and made us feel very welcomed. Whenever we were in the lobby he remembered us and gave us some good suggestions for our stay. We arrived to our room, clean with a great view of the marina and lower pool. Scattered around the pool were lots of lounging areas and an oversized chess board. They had two restaurants on the property. One for dinner, and one for breakfast/lunch. The outside seating area of Yellowfin Bar & Restaurant had live music and outdoor fire pits for a relaxed vibe. Any place with an outdoor fire pit knows the way to my heart.
Overall Experience:
Overall, a beautiful stay. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, clean and well designed. What more could you ask for, really?
Would We Wake Up Here Again?
If our travels took us to The Keys again, yes we would love another stay here!
